Now, this post is for those who may have never heard of the show or don't know what it is.
Earl Hicky is a petty thug living in Camden County. He lives a trailer park with his not to bright but good hearted brother Randy, his mean, dishonest, and cheating wife Joy( who Earl married when he was drunk and didn't realize until the next morning), and his two young boys( one caucsian and one african american, because Joy cheated on Earl with a african american man named Darnell Turner). Earl's life sucks. He does not have a job, steals, and basically does bad things.
One day after stealing, Earl scratches a lotto card and wins 100,000. Excited, Earl runs in the street and gets hit by a speeding car being driven by an old lady and loses the ticket.
After losing conscienceness, Earl wakes up in a hospital hooked up on lots of morphine with his brother randy sleeping on a couch by the bed. Joy suddenly walks in and makes Earl sign a paper, which afterwards she reveals are their divorce papers. Joy kicks Earl and Randy out of the trailer and Dranell moves in with Joy. Earl is then left with pretty much nothing and is still stuck in the hospital. He then decides to turn on the TV and while flipping through channels, watchs the Carson Daly show. Carson begins to talk about karma and explains that he belives "when you do good things, good things happen, when you do bad things, bad things happen". Earl suddenly realizses that Carson is right, the reason Earl's life sucks so much is because he always done bad things. Earl then makes a list of every single bad thing he's ever done and decides to make up for each one. (by the way I have no idea who Carson Daly is)
When Earl gets out of the hospital, he and Randy move into a hotel and When Earl starts to make up for items on the list, he finds his lotto ticket! Earl then cashes it and uses the money to live in the hotel and help him cross things off his list.
